AI policy
Automation assists research and illustration; humans remain accountable.
Text and research
Automated monitors inspect approved public sources. AI-assisted editorial work begins only after human initiation. Public AI-assisted articles require a named human reviewer, review date, verified source IDs, and checked calculations where material.
Illustrations
AI imagery is illustrative and is labeled visibly as an AI illustration. It is not documentary evidence. Images resembling real people, vessels, facilities, official action, accidents, protests, meetings, or other events state that they do not depict an actual event.
Review and reporting
Images receive factual-integrity and visual review before publication. Report a misleading image through the corrections and contact form. Labels are intentionally visible on mobile and desktop. Raw AI output may receive different copyright treatment from human-authored text, editing, selection, and arrangement.
